Libyan Minister of Economy and Trade, Mohamed Al-Hawij, met with Malta’s ambassador to Libya, Charles Saliba, at the Ministry’s headquarters in Tripoli on Monday to discuss trade relations and to invite Maltese companies to work in Libya.
The minister called on the Maltese ambassador to encourage Maltese companies to invest in Libya, underlining the commitment of the Ministry of Economy and Commerce to provide the facilities and services necessary for Maltese companies to guarantee them an adequate working environment.
The minister stressed the need to promote the role of businesses and chambers of commerce, organizing conferences and meetings, aimed at facilitating networking between entrepreneurs and investors from the two countries as well as organizing a partnership in support of trade and industry, agriculture and investments to exchange the best experiences.
Al-Hawij also discussed with the Maltese ambassador the obstacles that Maltese airlines face, at this moment, to resume their work in Libya and the solutions put in place, calling for the resumption of flights by Maltese airlines to Libya.
For his part, the Maltese ambassador expressed the desire of Maltese companies to resume work in Libya.
